Help me out. UCSB or University of Washington

I have been admitted to both school, just visited them recently. They both are really beautiful schools and have their own pro and cons. I want to major in engineering as of now - I may not like it after I take a few course. UW offers me its “pre-engineering” program - meaning that I will need to apply their engineering majors after I get there. UCSB offers me a physics major in its college of letters and science. I eventually want to switch to engineering but I know it will be hard (not any harder than getting an engineering major in UW). Considering the weather at UCSB is 10 times better than UW, I personally incline to go to UCSB but my parents want me to go to UW because there are more alternative majors and more opportunities (they think I will change my mind on the route of studying engineering). The final decision is still on me. I am really having a hard time. Can anyone help me out with your reasons? Tuition difference is the least factor.

Go SB. You’ll be happier here and it really isn’t difficult to switch majors.

Switching into an engineering major at UCSB from L&S is limited. Extremely limited some years. Visit the UCSB Engineering School and they will be very upfront with you on this subject.
