I am having the hardest decision choosing what college to commit to. I have narrowed it down to either UCSB or
SDSU for mechanical engineering. I was actually excepted into UCSB for the college of letter and science for my second major so I'm wondering how hard it would be to change into the engineering program.
I guess that would make my decision. I was also admitted to ASU (pricy since its out of state), CSULB (Seemed like a commuter school) , Cal Poly Pomona (which is too close to home). Does anyone have any input that would help me out?

You need to call UCSB admissions about how difficult it is to change your major. There was a post last year about a freshman student whom got in under their alternate major, took all the classes required to change to ME and then was denied due to lack of space.
I think SDSU is a good option and heard their engineering program is very good with a lot of “hands on” teaching. My younger son was accepted to CPP (too close to home), CSULB, UCR and opted to go to SDSU for the same reagson. He is a CS major. Good Luck!
