Help me pick my senior year classes!

My school is being way too over-prepared. The guidance department is already pressuring students to put together their senior year schedule, so here we go. Probably going to be more of me brainstorming than actually asking for advice tbh. BTW: No idea what I want to major in.

English: I’ve already decided. Honors Science Literature.

Social Studies: Not the greatest at this kind of thing, but wanted to push myself. Currently deciding between AP psyc (I heard this wasn’t TOO difficult), AP gov (I like the teacher who teaches it), or Honors Sociology (The safer choice).

Math: Ugh. Because my middle school sucked at life, I came into high school a year behind in math. So now I can’t do calculus (crying internally). So my options are honors precalc, or AP stats. I feel like i should probably do precalc because that seems important.

Science: Fun Time! I have a tendency to take way too many science courses (They are interesting) so I’m honestly running out. I’ve taken Honors Bio, honors Chem, Honors Engineering, New England Ecology(half year), AP environmental science, and Honors physics I. The only courses I haven’t taken are biotech, zoology, anatomy, earth science, astronomy, cosmology, and the other AP sciences. I’m probably going to do AP Physics II (since I can’t do AP physics C tears), and cosmology(half year) since they are both taught by my favorite teacher in the whole world and sound interesting. I also have an urge to take biotech or zoology(both half year). Would three science classes be too much? I’ve done it before, but New England ecology was barely even a class. We didn’t learn anything.

Electives: I am NOT taking another foreign language. Two years was enough and no one can tell me otherwise. Now that that is out of the way, I need one more semester of gym to graduate, so I have to do that… I’m definitely taking honors select choir for the entire year. Depending on how many half year science classes I take, I will have either one or two more electives. Maybe piano lessons? That could be fun. I could be an office assistant or help the special ed kids. That or I could take music theory. I guess this one is just more up to my interests. maybe I’ll just take “hip hop culture” for the giggles.

For math, I also strongly suggest honors pre calc. That is really important and it would hurt your application to not have at least done pre-calc. Usually people who take AP Stats have already finished AP Calc and just need another math class to fill in the empty spot they have the year after or have finished pre-calc and don’t want to take AP Calc.

AP Physics sounds like a good idea. If you’ve taken three science classes before, it should be fine considering two of them are semester long and “smaller” classes.

Good luck!

I also had no idea what to major in, so I entered college as an undeclared major in college of science.

Anyway, I prefer taking classes by teachers I like - the motivation buffered my senioritis. Go for AP Govt, Pre-calc, and physics.

Office assistant as an elective could be a decent break from studying.

Math: definitely take Pre-calc
English: What is science literature? Is that technical writing or science fiction?
Sociall Studies: I would take AP Psych. It is not too hard and you can take the AP test and probl get college credit.
Science: Try to take a full year of an AP science. if you love science, you may want to major in it so take an AP.
