Help me select an Upper Div Math for Winter

I am a Stats and Math minor, and i need to take a math class for my minor next quarter. I've already taken 131, 115 and 164, and i am not sure which other class to take.

My class needs to be between 10am to pm

I can't take 174. And i am not really looking for a class as hard as 131.

I was considering 110A with Khare, or 106 with hasemeyer.

Other classes which fit my schedule are 111, 114S, 115B, 142, 180 and 167

I don't really know much about these classes

I plan on taking 167 with brown this spring.

I prefer to stay away from geometry

What’s your major (or general interests)? If you’re looking for something that’s useful or relevant to statistics, 151A is probably your best bet (though if you absolutely need it this quarter it’s not an option), followed by 180 or 167. 171 is also a good class, though it’s not offered in the Winter. I don’t know much about 142, but I suppose it might be relevant.

As for the others, 110A is going to be a very abstract class (though some people really like Algebra, and Khare is a relatively well-known mathematician), 106 might be interesting but I don’t know how much math you actually learn, 111 has 110A as a prereq, 114S is a good class to take if you’re a philosophy major but it’s likely to be harder than 131, and 115B is basically a continuation of 115AH, so it’s fairly difficult.

I’ve heard 132 is easy.

I suggest Math 180.
Topics included: Permutations and combinations, generating functions, recurrences, principle of inclusion and exclusion, graph theory.

Some of the material overlapped with Stats 100A for me.

Overall it was my favorite math class. I liked all of the topics but my least favorite part was graph theory.

Sample midterm questions for Math 180:
-How many arrangements of the letters of USHKLAC are there with vowels appearing in alphabetical order?

Solution:
vowels UA consonants SHKLC
answer: (7 Choose 2) * 5!
explanation: choose the spot for the vowels and arrange them 1 way. Fill in the remaining spots with all arrangements of SHKLC.

-How many arrangements of the letters in USHKLAC have the vowels and consonants appearing in alphabetical order and have at least 2 consonants between each vowel?

Hint:
vowels UA consonants SHKLC

|v|cc|v|
vowels arranged one way.
fix 2 consonants between the vowels
then distribute the other consonants

-How many six digit numbers (they can start with 0) are there with no digit appearing exactly three times?

-An exam has 8 sections of 12 questions each. You must answer 8 questions on 3 sections and 6 questions on the other 5 sections. How many ways can you choose the questions? Note: the order chosen does not matter

-Find the probability that a pair of letters randomly selected from FLIBBERTIGIBBET contain the same letter twice.

Hmm, i am really tempted to take 180 now.

I guess that it would be easier than the 110 which was initially my first choice cause it’s prereqs is basic calc.

I have taken 100 series in Stats so i am guessing it would be easier.
I was considering taking Math 106, History of Math cause i feel that it would be the easiest of the math classes over Winter.

I think it would be best if i take 106 through winter and then 180 through spring cause they don’t offer 106.

Any thoughts over hasemeyer or sudakov?

I can take
