Help me to seek for my ideal university!!

I am currently a senior (17 year old) seeking for my future university and I do need a lot of help, I am Salvadorian and Italian citizen, at the time I am studying at the british school in El Salvador and I graduate on june 2015. I am taking the IB, for my higher levels I do Business, Visual Arts and English lit lang, and for my standard levels Spanish lit lang, Maths Standard and Biology and I am planning to take the SAT on October

I have seen a variety of universities in the US, canada and Europe but still haven't found my university, I would obviously like a university where I could get a full scholarship but if it isn't the case I still would like one where I get a very high scholarship, I also want a place where I can practice sports (specially Archery) and where there are not just national students involved but international as well.

By now I've worked hard towards fulfilling an outstanding application, my grades aren't the best, my IB average score is about 8.28 which turns out to be a GPA of 3.8, but I've done a lot of social work and sports as an example I've been one of the founders of an NGO in El Salvador: "Shoeing" and I am in the national Archery Ranking from El Salvador and I am the Student Council's Vice-president.

I hope someone can help me and give me some advise/recommendations/suggestions and if you have more questions about my life lets say, please do not hesitate on writing me back, thank you to everyone who helps me! I really do appreciate it!

What I am interested on is studying business combined with computer science, I don’t know what works best, if a minor in computer science or instead of business or just study computer science and afterwards do an MBA i dont knowww, please help!!

Look for archery at: ASU, Northern Arizona University, U Wisconsin Steven Points, U Wisconsin La Crosse, James Madison, The Pennsylvania College of Technology, Michigan State, University of the Cumberlands, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Long Beach.
However while your archery skills would help you get in, it wouldn’t provide you with a scholarship.

Since you’ve got Italian citizenship, you could attend Italian, French, Spanish, German, Belgian… universities for free, and British universities for about $12,000/year.

How much can you contribute towards tuition, in the case there weren’t full scholarships? Are you looking at research universities or liberal arts colleges? What size of college are you looking for? What kind of student body? Liberal? Conservative? Would you want a school in a city, small town, completely rural?

I’m a rising sophomore at Smith College, Computer Science major, and I love it there, but I also recognize it’s not for everyone (it’s also quite literally not for everyone, as it’s a women’s college, haha). Aid for international students is need-based, as it is at a lot of liberal arts colleges. I could suggest several schools in the US, but it really depends on the kind of school and environment you’re looking for. Also, have you taken the SAT practice test? Or if not, do you have a predicted score?

Yes, tell us about what you can pay.

“Since you’ve got Italian citizenship, you could attend Italian, French, Spanish, German, Belgian… universities for free, and British universities for about $12,000/year.”

I think the lower EU fees at British universities are only valid if you’ve been living in the EU for teh past three years; normal international fees would be payable in this case.

Scottish universities are free to EU citizens, but again only those who are also resident.

I don’t know if the same goes for the other countries suggested (I don’t think they’re all free, either - I’m pretty sure Italy isn’t, although fees are low compared with the US).

Hi paolants, I graduated from UBC and I recommend you check it out. They have a really good business school that offers a combined Business and Computer Science major. There are loads of international students there - I literally had friends there from every single continent (except Antarctica… duh). Also: they have a scholarship - I think it’s called ilot - that is either a full scholarship or a needs-based one that covers everything you need - and you sound like the kind of student that would get it, because it’s always people with loads of different activities (NGO, sport, etc.)

Hope this helps!

PS - i don’t know if they have archery there… sorry! :)
