Help me with my schedule! Engineering :(

I'm incoming freshmen, under Engineering-Undeclared.
I have interests over material science and engineering, MechE, and Computer Science...
Yes, it is a lot.. and that's why i'm undeclared :)

Well, this semester I'm enrolled in

E 10 (Pruitt)
Physics 7A (Yildiz)
Math 53 (Auroux)
Film Studies R1A (Loutensock)
and some seminars/decals including E92/E98/ and another freshmen seminar...

So looking at all these I'm taking a total of 18 units.

I got 4 on AP Chem, both Physics, and a 5 on Calc BC. So I don't really have to take Chem 1A, though the college of Chem recommends it. As for the math, I didn't want to suffer at a weeder class, so moving on.. was my thought.

What I'm worried about the most is the film writing class. I'm suck at essays. My ideas are good, usually. but I'm lacking at expressing them. If that makes sense..

I'm hoping to check out some of the clubs as well. One being a religious one, which won't be too much time-consuming. Will I be able to do explore around and do well on all the classes above?

PLEASE help me out here. and the school is starting in few hours! yayy!

Just looking at what you’ve given us…you honestly should be fine. 53’s fairly easy, Yildiz is a cakewalk as long as you actually go to all the lectures, discussions, and labs, and do all the homework (especially if you took Mechanics in HS), and E10 is also…fairly easy.

There is no point in taking Chem 1A if you can AP out, so don’t worry about it.

You should be ok for the semester even with clubs, but bear in mind that E10 has a lab section (which takes up time both in class and for homework), both of the others have homework that you pretty much have to do to do well in the class, and R1A’s going to demand some writing. You will need to budget your time, and/or at least learn to live with a couple of sleepless nights out of every month. That said, I kinda agree with the mantra from some of the energy drink ads in Walgreens - nobody ever wishes they’d slept more in college.

Your schedule is as standard as it can get…
