HELP! Meaning behind request for "Supplemental information" from UCLA

Recently UCLA asked me to submit additional information on their supplemental application basically asking me to elaborate on things already mentioned in my initial application.

Does this mean the school is very borderline with my acceptance?? As in not completely rejected, but also not really sure about accepting me. Please let me know any thoughts!!

It depends… Some of the UCs have special supplements, including those for disabilities. It could mean that you’re borderline, but they think you might have potential, so they want to know more about you. It can only help you. Take this with a grain of salt, though, because I’m a fellow applicant. I did not get the supplement from UCLA, but I got one from UC Berkeley.

I heard from an admissions counselor that a request for supplemental information occurs when the school is on the fence about an applicant.
