Hey all. I've applied to a bunch of schools that I have a chance to get into, but the only problem is that I've recently realized that I've applied to very few schools that'll offer me merit aid. I plan on going on to med school, and I need to be able to save as much as I can.

Anyway, I'd like to find a good liberal arts school that's preferably not in the middle of nowhere and good for pre-meds, that'd offer me some merit aid. Also, it can't have a Jan 1st deadline. (needs to be Feb 1st deadline) I know this is pretty specific, but I'd really appreciate some help.

Basic stats:
2210 SAT (760CR, 730M, 720W)
SAT IIs: 730 Math 2, 770 US Hist
4.0 GPA, taking 4 APs, took 5 APs last year
rank: 1/213
Captain of swim team, Model UN country ambassador, Eagle Scout

Haverford's deadline is the 15th...You can check that out

The following schools are either in or not too far from cities and their application deadline is Jan. 15th

Rhodes
Macalester
Oberlin
University of Richmond

In addition, you might consider the following schools (although some of them are in the middle of nowhere)

Drew--Feb. 15th deadline (not too far from NYC)
Hobart and William Smith--Feb. 1 deadline--deadline for certain merit scholarships is Jan. 15
Sewanee, University of the South--Feb. 1 deadline

Even if you meet the application deadline, it may already be too late to receive merit aid, so you would have to check each school carefully

Ohio Wesleyan - 1 Feb
Earlham - 15 Feb
Wooster - 15 Feb

DePauw
Bradley
U. Dayton
Franklin & Marshall
Dickinson
Ursinus
Mulhenburg (sp?)
Centre
Furman
Beloit

Does anyone know about Knox? I'm really interested in neurosciene, and this is one of the few schools I've found that...
1) may give decent merit aid
2) is a liberal arts school
3) has a neuroscience major...which I'm really interested in.

It is, however, in the middle of nowhere, which concerns me, cuz I'm afraid the only thing that's there to do is drink. Is Knox a good school and is there more to do out in rural Illinois than drink?
