I am looking to do something worthwhile in my community or region concerning the topics of environmental sustainability or law. This could also differentiate me from applicants in addition to serving my community or region and attaining self fulfillment. Any suggestions?
I know nothing about law, so I can’t really help you out there. Off the top of my head…
- plant a garden at a school
- plant more trees at a park
- educate kids about recycling, water conservation, etc
- start a campaign to pick up litter
- start a local ride sharing service to encourage carpooling
Thanks @Madeline25
Contact your local environmental agencies and ask for internships, volunteer openings, etc. Right now, in California, solar energy is big. Try your hand at it; you never know until you ask.
For the environmental things you could do s that you can start a community garden, pick up litter, plant trees, spread awareness about topics such as deforestation, pollution, and global warming through video, web, and print media, you can also form a green club.
My dad is a lawyer and the best things he says you can do to distinguish yourself from others in the law-side of things would be to either get an internship with a lawyer or shadow a lawyer, it is not that hard all you have to do is literally call a nearby law office and ask if they are willing to let you come in and help out, learn, and talk to you, or to attend a summer pre-law program at a nearby university.
Hope this helps!
