I got my AP scores and they're not fantastic.

My counselor tells me that no one will see my scores unless I show them and told me to keep them no matter what.

This college consultant tells me that adcoms will see the scores because they want to know everything about me and says they will see it whether I tell them or not.

The adcoms won't see the scores unless you send them the scores. However, when adcoms see that you've taken an AP course in your school (through the transcript), but you haven't sent your scores, eyebrows will be raised. There's no way the adcoms can see the scores without you sending them.

Out of the eight schools to which my daughter applied, only one asked for AP scores on the application. It is very expensive to send AP scores (much more than it costs to send SAT scores), so I do not think colleges expect you to send them until after you have been accepted.

btw, out of curiosity, if you cancel your score, do you have to cancel (not cancel, sorry "erase" or "hide") all the APs you took in the same year or something?

common app doesn't have a spot for AP scores and says report AP scores if you wish in academic honor

Not trying to attack you or anything, but why would adcoms raise their eyebrowse? plus, how do they know why the student didn't take the exams? (poor? parents didn't want to pay for test? terribly sick and missed late test? late? didn't have time/money to have official report sent, like momofapplicant said, it's costly)

what if the high school transcipt has AP scores on it? is it wise to report all the scores so the colleges don't think you tried to hide that 3 that you got even though you don't really want to show them?

If your scores are on your transcript, talk to your high school before you cancel them with the College Board. Make sure that if you cancel the scores, the high school will remove them from the transcript. Otherwise, you're wasting time and money.

Colleges don't really expect you to send your scores until after you have been admitted. The scores should not have any factor on your admission. I had really high scores and I still waited until after I was admitted to send them.
