Hi,
I am a new admitted international graduate student in UCLA EE. I am kind of hesitating on where to live. Now I have two housing offers, one is co-op and the other one is studio/furnished in Weyburn Terrace. I would love some place with socialized environment, but I usually go to sleep at midnight. People say that Weyburn is quite but is kind of secluded while co-op is much more socialized, but there is a chance that you find some unbearable roommate. Besideds, Weyburn is much more expensive than co-op. And I do not care much about food or the bathroom. My priorities are good rest and socialized environment, which are a little contradictive. I get really stuck here.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I would love to hear from you. THX!

do the co-op. a lot of people go to bed at 12. you dont want to be stuck in a place thats no fun.

Hi - I hear there are A LOT of international students in the co-op housing so if socializing is your thing then co-op is your best choice… On the flip side, I also hear that co-op isn’t necessarily the most sanitary environment… Either way, you can’t make a bad choice! If you do move to Weyburn you’ll have to be more of an extrovert…

Good luck!

I lived in Weyburn for two years. It was the right choice for me, since I preferred to have my own room (roommates might not have enjoyed my sleeptalking!) But you might enjoy the co-op. If anything, you’ll enjoy the savings and the communal meals. If I had to do it again, and didn’t have sleep neuroses, I definitely would’ve lived at the co-ops - such a treat to have meals for you most days of the week when you’re hella busy!
