Help on Junior Year ECs!

I am really involved in activities, as I have multiple leadership positions and a passion for all of them. I don't join clubs for colleges, I do it for myself. All of my activities relate to one another, and show a strong passion for two particular fields. But, I want to expand my passions even more, and start a club of my own this year. However, I've heard two things about new extracurriculars during Junior year:

Colleges don't want people to slack, and are annoyed when people start doing something new during Junior year.

Colleges don't mind, as long as you're doing something worthwhile. In fact, keep adding into your Senior year!

I'm completely lost as to what I should do! Does number 1 apply to me, since I've been involved since Freshmen year? Should I start a new club? Should I run with what I currently have? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What are you doing right now?
And how are your studies, are your classes very hard? Do you think that you can add more to your schedule AND keep up your grades?
If your coarse work is going to be very hard this year I’d encourage sticking with what you have. Colleges love ECs but they also love good grades and SATs. So if you think you can keep up with something new then sure! But if your schedules a little full maybe rethink starting anything new.

Sorry, side note but your name, DFTBA?! Am i sensing a fellow nerdfighter…?

Siriuss: I’m more wondering what colleges think, not how I’ll handle it.
Crazyfrog821: Yes, yes you are :)
