im trying to do this preregistration thing, and im having an unusually hard time doing it. i'm using some professor evaluations to help me, but i don't know which classes to take. i'm leaning toward a government major but am alos interested in int'l relations (as electives) or economics. these are my tentative choices:

critical reading & writing (collins) -- the packet said this is one of the humanities requirements?? if there are better classes to fill the requirement, please lemme know

problem of god (king)

us political systems (ross) -- this seems to be the introductory class for gov't major

can anyone give me any advice on other classes or lemme know if there are better choices? i want to fulfill the requirements asap but im lost on the best classes to take. thank you!!!

king is known for being really easy inclass, but his finals are really hard. King is also very old, and tends to speak very softly, he won't be able to keep you awake if you are sleepy. Do you ahve any AP credits? Because they can get you out of Critical reading and writing, if not you ahve to take it. USPS is a hard class, and I hear Ross is pretty good. I'm not really familiar with college reqs, but if you want to do IR or Econ, you might want to consider Microeconomic principles with Levinson to see if you like it. I think you guys have a math/science req, might want to consider one of those classes. Or, you can take IR, or Comparative Politcal Systems. You might want to start thinking about your lang. reqs, and consider taking language. If you are doing Intro French, I would consider Lapov. About Problem of God: Murphy is really amazing, but he's very popular. If you can't get him, try Ruf, his class is very odd, but it's quirky in a fun kind of way. He's also a very easy grader. Feel free to ask any more qs! :) :)

unfortunately my school didn't have humanities APs so i'm going to have to take critical reading. i might be able to get out of my math/science requirements with my AP scores, though. thanks sooo much for your help =)

Is there any way to place out of Critical Reading without AP scores? I took actual college classes last year, but Georgetown won't count them because they counted towards my high school diploma.

ratemyprofessor.com is not patently unsound if there is a higher quantity of reviews. I would be skeptical of the professors who have one or two ratings; however, from a collection of ratings, one can easily determine the 'consensus' of students on that professor. The most complicated situation is, however, when half of the reviews are negative and the other half is positive.
