Preregistration

so im starting to preregister for my classes so Im ahead of the game and such. what are some good sites where i can get reviews on a teacher? or which one site is the best one to use? ive heard of some but i cannot remember them.

on a side note, what professor do you recommend for "A problem with god"?

There’s Rate My Professors, of course, but there is a site that GUSA (student government) tabulates and puts online for everyone to see. It has the evaluations for most professors (since it’s from a certain semester’s evaluations).

https://www18.georgetown.edu/data/evaluations/

I’d recommend Steenhuisen for Problem of God, but my friends who had Ray, King, and Hentz loved them. Steenhuisen only gives a quiz and 4 (very lengthy, but fun/easy-ish) papers and not too much reading, and the books you read are great.

I had Elizabeth McKeown for PoG and she was fantastic. Her forte is really American Studies (e.g. American cultural anthropology), so some of the topics she focuses on are very different than other PoG classes, such as the Appalachian snake handlers, the Jim Jones cult, Catholic saints’ cults as practiced in the U.S., etc. Some really interesting stuff. She’s very witty also.

Which course is better, Problem of God or Introduction to Biblical Literature?
And how about Humanities and Writing teachers, any recommendations?
Thanks!!!

That really depends on your definition of “better”, dearify. Judging by the title of the courses, it would seem that Problem of God focuses on the challenges facing religion (not necessarily Christianity) while Intro to Bible Lit sounds like a Bible history course. Two totally different paths of theology.

Does any one know why there is only one Accounting I class in the preregistration list. Does that mean every MSB student has to preregister for it cause it’s the requirement for the first year MSB students?

thanks alot guys!

Unless you’re in love with the Bible, Problem of God is definitely better than Bib Lit. I know very few people who took it, but those that did tended to like it and felt it was easy but also said it was boring.
