Does anyone know of any online summer courses which are accredited and can be offered at both the AP and Honors level? I have found courses like this; however they only transpire during the school year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

By accredited I'm refering to any four year college; such as UC's or Ivies.

I only know that the UCs have gotten very stringent on accepting credit for online classes. Be careful and if in doubt, call and ask.

Check CA community colleges, they offer some online classes which are approved under the articulation agreement for guaranteed transfer credit.

Be warned, they are tough, no computer error tolerated at all, you really have to stay on top of them. Both of my Ds are at UCs and picked up a GE course or two, via CC online classes. There are so many CCs you should have no trouble meeting your schedule requirements.

It is totally and completely not fair to say so, but my kids took 4 classes, two from women and two from men, the male teachers were much mellower on the details of the course requirements, allowing you to do XYZ work done by each Friday, wheras the female profs had every day log in type requirements, making those classes much more stressful, esp in the summer when you might want to do all your work ona couple of days and go some where for a long weekend on the other days.

If you do this, see if you can find out how the class works, if you are a self-starter you are better off to have bigger requirements due less often

Thanks for the advice. I'm 15, so there might be some ag requiremen problems with the community colleges, but I'll try anyway.

If you allowed to do CC classes you need to ask advisors about using them both for HS and college credit- some schools/states will not allow you to double dip- you have to choose HS or college credit. Also, some HSs have different ways of using those courses to be included in your ranking, if others are doing weighted AP/honours courses and you are not getting weighted GPA pts, you could find yourself on some borderline for later awards.
