<p>There are many places on the css profile where it asks you to estimate - what if these really are pretty rough estimates (especially since i need to turn it in by 11/15, and we're using 2006 info because we don't have the 2007 info yet)? How can the colleges really use these estimates when they could, in fact, be fairly far off?</p>
<p>They will use them for their initial offers, which they will adjust once they receive the final numbers from your tax returns (which they will request if you are admitted).</p>
