help please

Hello,

I am currently a freshman at SMU and am looking to transfer to William and Mary Mason School of Business.

I maintained a 3.6 gpa first semester and will finish this semester most likely at the same gpa. I am currently a member of one of the business fraternities on campus. This also provides much of my philanthropy as it is both required and enjoyable for me to partake in. I am also a member of the honor society for those in the top 15% of their class.

My ACT was a 29 and my SAT 2040.
I had a high school GPA of 3.66 unweighted.

High School Activities:
Spanish Honor Society
Mayor's Youth Council
Student Congress
Cheer/ Dance team
National Honor Society
Secretary of Senior Class

I also partook in over 100 hours of community service in my junior and senior years alone.

How good do you think my chances are? What should I do to better my chances?

It might be a good idea to complete a second year at SMU. Use the extra year to complete the courses that WM looks for in transfers (theres a list on their site), boost GPA, and have the adcoms judge you on college performance, not high school.

A GPA of 3.6 in college is good to go for WM transfer.

Assuming you have already applied the best thing to do is to await your decision. If you are not admitted, you are welcome to contact our transfer dean and ask for assistance. She will be happy to advise you as to what you can do to improve your chances for admission in the future. As a student with a 3.6 your first semester (and hopefully strong mid-semester grades) you could be competitive for admission now.
