I'm currently a senior in high school and I've been accepted to both Penn State and Michigan. I double deposited because I can't decide and I still can't. I'm in Kinesiology (Movement Science) at Michigan and I'm in bioengineering at Penn State. I know that Penn State's engineering is 17th in the nation but I didn't apply for engineering at Michigan. And I doubt I would be able to get in even if I did go to Michigan. Either way I'm unsure of what I want to do but I think I want to go to grad/or med school. I'm not sure if the Kensiology program is good as the rest of Michigan but I've heard that it's the easiest to get into for undergrad. I also know that I have greater flexibility at PSU because I can always switch majors but I'm stuck in Kines at Michigan, but I talked to the admissions and they said I can switch to a bio major if I really wanted to. Please help me decide!!

they wont let you transfer into lsa?

I talked to the admissions and they said I would have to come to campus and then do a cross campus transfer. There are probably requirements too but even if i went into lsa i would go to the bio major and have to go to grad school to make a decent amount of money. At psu I have greater flexibility, I can switch from engineer to bio vice versa.

listen, if you don’t think you can transfer into michigan’s COE, dont do engineering in general. Cross campus transfer is really easy, you can take those basic math/science courses offered in LSA, and easily transfer to LSA or COE if you do well. Now if they don’t let you enroll in those courses because you’re in kinesiology, then idk…

It’s very easy to transfer into either COE or LSA, you wouldn’t be any more restricted at Michigan than at PSU.

This is false for kines. Since kines has such different requirements than COE, you’d have to first show that your math and science skills are up to par before transferring.

Transferring from COE to LSA and back around is typically easier.

I thought Kines students could take classes in LSA freely. If that is the case, transferring to the CoE should be very easy. Getting B+s in Calculus and Physics classes ought to do it.

What about money? Are you a PA resident? That’s a big factor.

I presume the OP is good in math and science, perhaps even coming in with AP credits in both, otherwise he/she has no business doing engineering at PSU.
