I am suppose to be logging in and selecting my room right now from 7-10pm and everytime I click the online residence housing application link the page says there is an error. What do i do?

keep trying - others are having the same trouble.

Just hit the back button on your browser one time and re-click. If you’re like us you will encounter various error messages at each level in the process. Just hit the back button once so you stay at the level you’re at and don’t have to start all the way over.

now all it says is this, without loading.

CPIP Notification: loginuser request failed for housing

Yeah we got that message several times as well. Just hit the “back” button once and try again. Keep doing that until you’re all the way through. I know it’s frustrating but just know that you’re not the only one getting the errors.

There are still plenty of rooms in good Dorms out there. South is probably full but there were plenty of openings in Ridgecrest East when we got through.

To you, too. Wonder if they’ll keep those that got through or have everyone reserve over to keep it fair. I know we started before 6pm and spent almost 2 hours trying to get through.

Yeah I’m worried about that as well. Hopefully our selection will stay, but I’ll understand if they cancel everyone’s selections and have a complete do-over.

We can have a party - laptops on laps, snacks and drinks…we’ll be better prepared next round. This does give us a chance to see Bama in action. It is easy to be nice when things are smooth. How problems are handled will be revealing. The lady I spoke to is the same one who ran the chat session and she was very apologetic (this was early on) and they were aware of the problem, although at that time people were still getting through.

Tomorrow is another day.

Room selection will be unavailable tomorrow as well according to this message that is on the Housing webpage.

“Room Selection is temporarily unavailable due to technical issues, and will not be available tonight or tomorrow at all. Please check your UA email tomorrow for further updates.”

It’s obviously a technical problem and isn’t something that usually occurs. But you’re right. Things are best judged in how they respond to adversity and not how they act when things are well.

We had a similar problem when seniors had to choose rooms a couple months ago. It was during the day, though, so IT people were there to fix it in real time.
