I am a student within the Greater Los Angeles Area interested in pursuing a career in IT/CIS, and have applied to both Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly Pomona for CIS or the equivalent in each. I was wondering what you guys would personally suggest for the courses; which do you think would be better in the long term? I am personally interested in the “Learn by Doing approach” by Cal Poly Pomona, having many people being proud of the courses there, as well as the connections, making it my current first choice. However, I have not heard too much regarding Fullerton’s; while the campus does seem more appealing to me, with the student life and facilities, I do wish to prioritize my education and having connections to the field. I would be commuting to both due to my proximity to the schools.
But are there any other suggestions in regards for schools to study IT/CIS? I do not wish to move too far from the area, nor do I want to go to a school that would be too expensive due to my family’s low income, being a first generation student.
