Hi,
Im a highschool student and im going to be graduating in 2015. I'm applying to nursing school after this summer, and im already in the process of studying for the SAT. I took it once and im going to take it again. I think im also going to take the ACT and some subject tests before applying too.
I recently learned that a lot of nursing programs mentioned a test called the GRE? Im not sure if this is a mandatory test and im pretty worried because i have so many tests to take before applying. (Im graduating a year early and i hadn't planned to do so). I need to know if this test is mandatory and if its similar to the SAT?

My other question is about my chances of getting into a direct entry bsn program (this is the only program i am interested in entering upon finishing highschool). I already have a list of colleges with this program and their nursing rankings listed. My GPA so far is a 3.8 freshman year, and a 4.2/4.0 for each semester of sophomore year. I plan on getting a 4.0 both junior and senior year (which i will be both completing this coming school year). I plan on volunteering as a candy-striper at a local hospital and am in a program called Youth & Government run by the YMCA.

Im stressing like crazy because I dont know if the GRE is mandatory and i just need some reassuring and advice. I'm getting my SAT scores tomorrow but i am pretty confident that i will get a decent score because i have good test taking skills. If anyone could give me insight into direct entry nursing programs and what I should do to up my chances that would be amazing.

I want to become an ER nurse practitioner.
