Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/MDYResponse, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st.

This is just the standard status that everyone will have. It means they've gone through your file to check that everything has been submitted. If something is missing, they will contact you.
As for midyear grades, use the link and send them, followed by an official transcript when ready. Last year this was to be forwarded along with the "Mid Year Report", sent by your GC. Might be different this year.
For those who receive acceptances in late January/early Feb, the mid year will not be necessary.

beeish, it's still very early and in fact there are still applications coming in as the deadline is the 10th. Remember, they will have around 36,000 applications to go through. Don't worry.

no I'm not worrying... i was just confused with the whole prelim thing and changing... cause it never went to prelim review... just we have recieved and are reviewing your application.... not like it even matters to me cause we can't check on the internet anyways.

Sequoia- can you please clarify what you mean by :"For those who receive acceptances in late January/early Feb, the mid year will not be necessary."

Does that mean if you get the pres/trustee interview you dont need to submit the midyear grades or your gc doesnt have to submit the midyear report? thanks

If you are accepted before you midyear report is released then obviously USC does not care about your midyear report. USC doesn't rescind your acceptance unless you get D or F in your senior year.

Now that I think about it, ...the Trustee/Pres interviews are scheduled in late Feb and early March (at least they were last year). By then the mid year should be available at your school and it would be wise to send them anyway since if your grades are strong then it can only help in determining whether you'd get the scholarship. Now that I remember, my D did send off the midyear after she was already accepted.
