HELP! Still confused )=

The deadline is approaching fast and I'm still having trouble choosing between UCB or UCSD. Talking to a few friends from each of the campuses I find myself choosing UCB because it's closer to home(cheaper in my opinion), it's prestige, well known, top 10 in the nation(so I've heard), diverse, school spirited, etc. But then there's the thought of being at San Diego, which I have not gotten the chance to visit, with it's beautiful weather, nice campus and the 100s of research it provides for my major. I want to become a pediatrician, but I'm finding it very difficult to choose the school that will benefit me in the long run with my intended major/career. Any advice?

Here is one calculator that can help you determine whether the difference in cost matters to you: [FinAid | Calculators | Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Award Letter Requirements - Finaid)

Med School admission is very numbers dependent. Your overall GPA, the GPA in the pre-med courses, and your MCAT score will be more important than the name on your diploma. There is something to be said for choosing the college or university where you will be happiest and best able to learn well in your classes. If the costs are essentially the same for UCB and UCSD, you think you would be happier in general at UCSD, you would have good internship/research/job opportunities there, it is OK to choose UCSD over UCB.

Wishing you all the best!

Go for Cal! UCSD isnt even in San Diego, it’s in La Jolla! A small town full of old people, and the town and the college dont really interact positively with one another! Plus Cal’s got wayyy more prestige and clout! :)

If you’re having this much trouble deciding, visit UCSD.

The number of people who turn down Berkeley for UCSD is tiny. Go to Cal.
