Help stupid people and God will help YOU

Hello. Please answer me, whoever you are.
Because I want to apply to an American college as an international student(from Romania),I need to take the Sat I.
The thing is the earliest test date for internationals is October 6.
The deadline for Early Action at almost every university is 1-15 November.
They will let me know my SAT scores no sooner than 5(FIVE!) weeks afterwards.
I don't get it.
Why do they do this to me? They shouldn't organize tests so late, should they? I thought there would be test dates earlier than October, like in the previous years...Have I missed my chance because I didn't take the test in June? Am I dumb?

Planning is ideal. You do have other options. . . and your scores should make it to the colleges in time for consideration.

Errr..yes, it would have been much better if you took the SAT in May or June. However, like the above poster said, your score will make it to the colleges. :) You can note on your SAT registration that you want your scores to be sent to whatever colleges you plan to do early action at.

No, you are not dumb.

oh...so the scores won't get to colleges too late after all? it still seems strange to me, but if you say so..
thanks a lot

October scores are usually fine for early apps (mark the school you are applying to as a recipient of your score report on the test registration form!)

However, if you are an international APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID, you may not be allowed to apply under EA or ED plan -- so make sure to check that.
