Relax: Believe it or not BU is grateful you’ve applied. They want to read your file and find a way to admit you! That’s their job. They aren’t going to dump your file in the shredder for something trivial like that

Because I know how competitive it is on their side: to attract great applicants and lure them to matriculate once they admit them. Great applicants, especially very-willing and enthusiastic ones who would apply ED aren’t easy to come by. Why would BU slash its own throat by dinging you off the bat for something trivial? They set institutional deadlines so people don’t abuse them – like turning something in on Friday or something.

Also know that they’ll be processing the snail mailed apps throughout this week as well.

But I’m sure my missive here won’t be sufficient to calm you sufficiently. Why don’ t you just call to make sure?

Calling seems reasonable but you need to know a few things:

1.) Wow. Procrastinating like this is VERY BAD in college.
2.) AdCom officers do want applicants
3.) …But don’t want to wake up Nov 2nd to have their phones ringing off the hook.
4.) It probably won’t matter anyways however, and they’ll still read the file.

and finally;

5.) Worse case scenario? You get deferred to RD because you made that deadline on time.
