Hey guys, does anyone know what they mean when it says you are not accepted now, but have been given the transfer option instead? I mean, I'm not an idiot, i know what the work transfer means, I just wanted to know if anyone knows the actual details of the CALS (college of agriculture and life sciences) transfer option? I don't think everyone gets this, right?

Anyway, I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me information on this, if they themselves have received this option, or know someone who has....I would just really love to know any details at all.

so, does the transfer option allow us to go to ANY college we want for our freshman year, and still transfer in? Or are there specific colleges that we have to attend our freshman year? I was reading something on the CALS site that had a list of local NY 2 year colleges, I don’t have to attend one of those right?

Because I got into vanderbilt as well, and if the Transfer Option really guarantees that we will be able to transfer into CALS our sophomore year, then I would want to go to Vandy my 1st year, then switch to Cornell my 2nd…the transfer option wouldn’t forbid this right?

Thanks again guys, just trying to get whatever information I can.

PVS-- there are a ton of posts on this, do a board search

IN_DC: the community college thing is a totally separate agreement/option. For GT, you can attend any college where they offer the classes that Cornell is requiring you to take (and I would assume that Vandy would be one of these)

alright, so there really were a lot of threads on this topic. but all the threads so far weren’t very specific on the requirement of the “university” we hav to attend for a year (or a semester). do i HAVE to attend a 4 year university or can i attend a cc if i choose to do so?
[i really dont mind the latter if the stay at a cc is only temporary, plus it will save a lot of money than if i go to UCB (which i was planning on doing)].

You can attend any college you wish…just make sure it offers all the courses you need to take to fulfill the requirements of your GT. Keep in mind that you’ll also have to maintain a 3.0 (3.5 for Bio majors) and no grade less than a B…so make sure you go to a college where you can maintain this GPA.
