Help: Transfer Options for COM

I'm a sophomore at Syracuse with a 3.37 GPA, will go up after this semester. I'm in Arts & Sciences, but you have to have a 3.5 to transfer into the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications (which is where I want to be/what I want to do). I met with an advisor today and he said that if I don't bring up my GPA to a 3.5 or better, I should consider other options.
My main other option is to transfer to another communications school. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which would be a good fit for me?:
ACT: 24 (don't test well on standardized tests--they do not show my ability)
HS GPA: 3.2
Involved in a lot of EC's i.e. student government in high school (class vp), editor-in-chief of school newspaper, internship for 2 summers at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (Law office), involved in promotions dept. of a campus, student-run television station at SU.
I am also in the Renee Crowne University Honors Program.

I really like Boston University, is this a reach? In addition, I'm looking at UNC Chapel Hill and Elon University. Does anyone have any other suggestions and what do you think my chances are at these schools as a transfer with strong writing skills and good reccomendations??

BU isn't a reach. UNC is good, if you're in-state and Elon is doable.

You have a good shot at those schools.

Thanks for your response. I'm not from North Carolina. I just thought that it was easier to get into UNC as a transfer than as an incoming freshman. I should have about a 3.5-3.7 by the end of the year.
Do you think it's wise to retake my ACT or SAT since I've had over a year of college experience under my belt?

The SAT or ACT is required for transfer applicants to Boston University. It is only required for sophomore applicants at UNC-CH. At Elon, the test may be waived. Given your current score, I would suggest giving it another shot.
