HELP! Transfer questions

I was scanning the USC website and it says two rather disparate things:
1. I need to complete the WRIT 130 class before transferring
2. I need to complete two semesters of composition before transferring

Now, I'm only transferring as a sophomore, and am aware that USC requires its students to take only 2 semesters of writing - one lower division, one upper division. Hence, why are they requiring me to take two semesters as a lower classman? Shouldn't I only take one - the WRIT 130 class?

Secondarily, some of my courses aren't quite transferable to USC (6 credits). At the end of Spring 2007, I will have accumulated around 29-30 credits, of which 6 or 7 are nontransferable. Will this significantly affect my chances at admission? Does finishing with a 3.75 - 3.8 help?

in my community college i just finished english 100 and spring 07 will take english 102 which fulfills the writing 130 requirement usc wants to see. as for the composition thing...i have no clue what you're talking about unless they mean the same writing 130 thing.

I'm sure you know that usc will focus on your high school grades and sat scores if you end up with under 30 units so make sure you dont go under. 3.75 gpa is good if your applying to the letters arts and sciences...other schools like journalism, theatre, film are all different stories.

**in order for you to transfer you need to have the writ 130 requirement completed. check usc.edu/articulation to see what classes transfer from you school to usc.

USC only requires you take two semesters of writing. They aren't supposed to be upperdivision. You will take the upperdivision writing class (WRIT-340) here at USC if you get in.
