Help! Transferring as a sophomore

Hello, people of the USC thread!

I will be a UC student starting from the fall semester of 2012. However, I have already decided that I will try to transfer to USC after a year.
I know that 2 semesters of English writing are required for one to transfer. But how is this possible for sophomore transfers? If I submit my application by February, then I would only have finished 1 semester of English writing. I emailed an admission counselor, and he said that it is "ideal" for me to finish 2 semesters before applying. How does that make any sense..

Can any sophomore transfers to USC help me? Thanks.

I am transferring as a sophomore this year. You just take the first writing class in fall and the second one in Spring and they see that it is in progress when you apply. You probably will get a spring grade request if you have a good fall semester, meaning that they will want to see your spring grades because you have pre requisites in progress and because you do not have a lot of units only being a sophomore.

Good Luck
