I am international student, currently studying in community college in california. I applied, and got accepted in Geneseo as transfer student for spring 2009. Now I am confuse. To begin with my major is Business. Does geneseo has reputation in Buss sci (I applied in it). As I am international student, i got well adjusted in california, Howz the enveronment over there, as I read only 2% are international students.
When I spoke to my college proff, and frnz, none of them had heard about this college. This is making me more nervous. I applied because it had less tuition fees, has established in ranking list, and got good reviews (even in this site). However, if you think this college is not going to help in my major ( AS it's a LAC) i will take my chances and apply for BInGHAMTON, or BUFFALO, and see what will happen for fall 2009.

SUNY Geneseo is an excellent school. Your professors and friends have probably not heard of it because it is a SUNY college, and not a university. Binghamton and Buffalo are two of the Universities of SUNY- the other two are Albany and Stony Brook. All of these schools are good.

I'm sure the business major is fine. According to Collegeboard, it is the third most popular major at Geneseo.

thanx for the reply. At the same time I was thinking waht about in terms of internship, or jobs, and career. Does geneseo place its students in campus recruting as good as other SUNY ?
If I am not sure, can I ask my application to defer for fall 2009. If so, should I still maintain high g.p.a, or since I got admitted maintaining 2.0 would be fine. Any more suggestions would be appriciated since I got less than 10 days to reply.

Do you mean for jobs that allow you to stay in the US? None of the SUNY school have the strebgth to generally yield the type of business jobs where employers will sponsor you. For that you would need a top college and it would still be difficult,

I have to ask - why are you applying to schools you know nothing about? I would think you would do all this research before deciding where to apply.
