Can anyone give me some advice please?
I am a California Community College student hoping to transfer to U-M for Fall 2016. I intended to major in Computer/Electrical engineering at first, but since admissions to CoE is hard, I wonder if I had a better chance applying at LSA for CS?
- Currently, I have a 3.90 gpa right now but I think it's probably dropping to a 3.8-ish gpa after this fall quarter. Also, I do have a few EC's with minor officer positions and Phi Theta Kappa if it matters. What are my chances?
- How hard is it for OOS community college student to get in? Do they give priority admissions to 4-year university transfers? What are they looking for other than GPA? Does EC's matter for transfers?
- It looks like many of the courses I took are transferable as DEPT credit. Is that going to affect my chances? So, are those courses counted towards my total units?
- I am currently on a quarter system, so by the time I transfer, I will have 133 units, is that going to hurt my application?
- Should I apply for CoE or do I have a better chance at LSA for CS?
Sorry for the long post. I’m getting very nervous about the whole transfer process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
