I go to a fairly respected CC in Michigan. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and 35 credits completed, and after this semester I will have 47 completed. I currently have 4.0 in all 12 of my credit hours, and if I keep that up I will have a 3.65 at the end of this semester.
I will be applying to transfer into LSA with the intended major of economics. My brother who graduated from CoE said that a GPA of 3.65 from my CC applying into LSA has a very good chance at being admitted.
College classes I have completed include Calc I, II, and III (currently in) and am currently in Linear Algebra. Will the difficulty of my classes play any role in being accepted?
Do you think my GPA 3.5 currently and hopefully 3.65 is on the low end for being accepted?
I was told by a couple of former students that I should apply for the Spring semester because less people apply then and that it’s a lot easier to be accepted as a transfer student then. Do you agree?
Lastly, if I say were to not be accepted as a transfer student, could I retake Calc I and II (the only classes I didn’t get 4.0 in) and be able to apply to be admitted the following winter?
Thank you so much in advance for all of your responses, I really do appreciate it. Michigan is my dream school and I’m getting very anxious about the application process. I apologize for so many questions, but I did not get very thorough or direct answers from the Michigan website or from the email exchanges with admissions adviser.
