Hey guys,
I’m currently a H.S. senior who was accepted to Fordham with pretty much a full ride. The problem is that I’m not really interested in Fordham and I plan to definitely transfer out after freshman year (for soph transfer).
- My question is how is the grading at Fordham? Hard? Easy? Average?
- Also how likely would a Fordham student be accepted to a top university (T20s, Ivies) through transferring? Do top colleges look down on Fordham?
- For transferring, would it be better to go to a public school or Fordham (based on grading difficulties)?
I really need advice at this point and I would greatly appreciate any perspectives on this issue
Thank you so much!
I’ll see if I can answer your questions…
- Average. With the exception of the science courses, put the work in and you'll do fine. You need to put in effort, even if you want to transfer. Just because you did great in high school doesn't mean the same will happen in college.
- Nope. In fact, Fordham does a 3-2 engineering program with Columbia. Most kids who do transfer out of Fordham have no problem getting into other schools like Columbia and NYU.
- As far as I'm aware, it doesn't matter much. However, take Fordham, since you do have a full ride.
Also, just a note, just because it’s a higher ranked school, doesn’t necessarily mean better. I feel like I’ve worked harder at Fordham than some of my friends at higher ranked schools.
I’m also in a similar situation. Is their anyone else that could offer some insight?
