I know I need to submit a copy of our 2010 tax return to USC financial aid. On their website it offers a choice to fax it in or submit electronically, but I cannot get either option to work!!! The electronic option says it is not available yet (we filed 1040A, not 1040) and red writing instructs me to fax to (number.) When I follow links to print a barcoded cover sheet it only has the student one available, not the parent form and instructs me to do it online! Help, I feel caught in a loop!!! Any suggestions? I emailed them, but the form said it may take a few days to get a reply.

Call the financial aid office at USC

Don’t worry!

You can make your own cover sheet - Write your student’s name and USC ID # on the cover sheet and then write “PARENT 2010 TAX RETURN.” Include the number of pages being FAXed and write your student’s USC ID # on the margins of all tax return pages.

Good luck!

P.S. I have used this method several times and it worked perfectly!

Thank you!! I did some more looking on the site and found an option to print out a cover sheet for “unknown or unlisted type of financial aid document.” I feel better using something with a USC generated barcode, etc.

I was curious if others are having the same issue and what they are doing.

Thanks Alamemom for all your great advice. Your posts have taught me A LOT!!
