HELP!! what to do after academic dismissal

So I was academic dismissal from the art institute. I would like to know, should I take the act this summer and apply for colleges or go to a community college (I don't think they'll take my credits from the art institute).

I'm really lost and don't know what do to. Also I had a 1.78gpa

And if I take the act and still go to a community college then transfer after a year or so… do I still have to send the art institute transcript

I would distance yourself from it, go to a CC, do as well as you can, and try to transfer somewhere. Whether you still have to send your transcript depends entirely on the college to which you’re transferring; some say you have to, but not all do.

Thanks for the help! So I shouldn’t take the act if I’m going to a CC

… any more

Check with the CC to see if they need the ACT. I doubt they will.

When you apply to a degree program at any accredited college or university in the US, you are obligated to provide official copies of transcripts from every college or university you have ever attended. Some will let you take a few classes as a non-degree student without showing all of your transcripts. Go visit your CC, and talk with an admission counselor about your situation. That person will be able to tell you about your options.
