I am a current junior and am wondering if I should take the SAT once in addition to the ACT. I took the PSAT and received a 186, which is (according to an ACT-PSAT conversion chart online) a 28 on the ACT scale. I have already taken the ACT cold in October and scored a 29. Should I risk taking the SAT this coming March (March 7) with little to no preparation up to this point? I'll do intensive prep if I decide to sign up for it, but seeing that selective colleges look at all scores, should I risk taking the SAT or just focus solely on the ACT? I'm looking to get around a 33 on the ACT after prep and I don't know if studying for the SAT will hinder my chances.
Thanks in advance!

There is no point to take any test without preparation. Why do you want to waste the money? Just do some practice test and sign up for the real one when you are ready. Ideally, you should have all your SAT/ACT done by June so that you can compile a list of target schools and prepare for application over the Summer.
