I’m very nervous right now. I was accepted to UMass as a communications major. I did not receive a scholarship and I am not in the CHC.
I am currently getting a D in my honors physics class. I know its early on in the semester and I really am working my hardest but I just don’t understand this class. Do you think UMass will rescind my acceptance? I don’t need physics to graduate and I’m a communications major so I was hoping they wouldn’t mind if I didn’t do that well. Please help
Can you drop the class with a W? I’m not sure what your intended major is but I would guess that you should try to get out of that class. Otherwise try bringing it up to at least a C and you should be set. UMass is a very large school and you are only one student. I don’t think they care about a a single C as long as you are not involved in any merit scholarships or the CHC.
in the first paragraph I explained im a comm major and not in CHC or recieving any scholarships but no I don’t think you can drop classes at my school
@laurrodes - Sorry, I guess I skimmed over the communications part but I did understand that you aren’t in the CHC or getting any scholarships. I guess that last sentence was just a funny way of answering your question.
Also IMO, “as long as” and “since” are interchangeable in casual speech but I guess I should have said “since you are not involved” to be clear.
e.g- Student: Q- “I have already studied, will I do alright on the test?” Teacher: A- “As long as you have already studied you should be fine”.
PS- perhaps I put too much energy into making this point, but again, I would say I would be surprised if UMass gets touchy with this situation.
