My gpa is 3.3 and my sat score is 1790
I am kind of undecided to what majors I want to go to but the majors i am interested in is psychology, linguistics (jap lit most likely) and animation
I dont have much extracurriculars
Must haves for college:
Co-ed
In the east coast
No religious affiliation
I am thinking of applying to
Boston University
Hofstra
Penn State
University of massachusetts amherst
and a few cunys (hunter, baruch, city) and sunys (binghamton. stonybrook and buffalo university)
I honestly dont feel like i’ll get in any college because of overachieving people around me
Can someone help me add more schools to this list or possible feedback on the colleges i selected
Are you in NY? I think you might consider New Paltz, or Plattsburg, or any other SUNY. Research James Madison, Roger Williams, Rhode Island, Muhlenberg, West Virginia too, those might work with your stats.
What is your financial situation and home state? Public universities are expensive for out of state students, and you would get little or no need based aid if you are from out of state.
yes i am in the NY and i am from a low income family and a few grand in savings but we r paying off our mortgage in 2 years (from renting our property)
Are you a senior? Because the priority deadline for Penn State has passed, so crossed it off your list.
Boston University doesn’t meet need.
You need to look for universities that are in-state for you (SUNYs?) as well as colleges that “meet need”.
Linguistics has nothing to do with literature. Linguistics is like the math of language.
If you’re interested in Japanese lit, you need to find colleges with a strong East Asian/Asian studies program. I would recommend you look into Dickinson’s, but you’d need to increase your SAT score and hopefully that 3.3 is based on a rigorous schedule?
