I can't seem to find schools that I'd be happy getting into.

I'd like a school with:
decent comp sci program
japanese language course/minor
study abroad program
co-op program
nice campus (urban/suburban)

Doesn't have to have all of these, but most would be nice.

I live on the east coast (NJ), and don't want to go too far, but don't mind going out of state.
current gpa: 3.5
looking for schools with avg SATs around the 1890-1930's.

My reach is Northeastern University, and I've looked into Drexel, RIT, and Rutgers already.

What is wrong with the schools on your current list? For example, Rutgers has a good CS major, Japanese language courses, study abroad program, and co-op program (you may want to visit to see if you like the campus).

However, you need to make sure that you have a safety that you will certainly be admitted to and will certainly be able to afford.

Obviously, you have Drexel, but look into Dickinson too (nice campus, good study abroad, good Japanese program with great East Asian major, excellent science facilities and CS major).

I know you said you’d prefer east coast, but I’d seriously suggest looking at the University of Washington. Might be somewhat a reach but if your essay is awesome and you have something unique to show that can outweigh your grades.

The most selective universities are likely to offer a language as (relatively) rare as Japanese, and you do not have the sat stats ~ in case you don’t receive a lot of replies.

Not certain about these in terms of your stats, but you could look into:
Colgate (NY)
Gettysburg ¶
University of Rochester (NY)
Elizabethtown College ¶

But I also think Pitt is a good idea if it has both programs of interest.
