HELP with College!!!

<p>I'm moving away for college (from the Upper Midwest to the Rocky Mountain area) and I need some advice for people who did the same (or similar) thing.</p>

<p>So, first, the most important thing is funds. By the time, I'm ready to go and moved out (sometime in August, the fall of 2014 - I'm finishing my senior year of HS now), I'll have about $4,000-$6,000 in disposable dollars to spend on miscellaneous things that come with this kind of a move (security deposit, first month rent, toiletries, etc.).</p>

<p>What should I do first? I will be making a trip down to tour the college first and I've already made contact with the apartment I'd like to be staying in (about two blocks from the university).</p>

<p>Does anyone have any advice pertaining to what I said do when I get to my university? Like, what should I look for, be doing, etc.? Really ANYTHING to help!</p>
