Help with Course Selection

I know I may sound like I’m completely out of it, but I’m confused about the course selection process. Where are we supposed to be registering for our courses? How do we know which courses to take? When are we supposed to register by? And, I can’t find the sheet, how does Bates deal with AP courses? I just read the last thread and I’m afraid I’m not doing something I’m supposed to be doing.

You can register for classes on the bates website by clicking on for students on the front page and then on garnet gateway. You should have gotten and ID and pin number in the giant packet that was sent a little while ago.
You can pretty much take any courses you want but they really recommend a first year seminar and there are some areas that you have to take classes in before you graduate.
Registration opened on friday and it doesn't close until sometime in august but many classes are already filled so you should register as soon as possible.
Bates AP policy can be found here: <a href="http://abacus.bates.edu/admin/offices/reg/academics/APpolicy03_04.htm%5B/url%5D">http://abacus.bates.edu/admin/offices/reg/academics/APpolicy03_04.htm</a></p>

Hope all of this helps!!!

Thanks so much - for answering both messages. I think I didn't want to read too much of the Bates information before I received my rejection letter because I didn't want to feel like I was committing myself to another school - so I didn't really start reading through the packet until about a week before the July 24th deadline, and even then I was doing so half-heartedly. I went to a Bates admitted students reception back in May and I really liked the people I met there (though I already knew a few personally). Anyway, thanks again - I really appreciate it. :)
