So, the most selective schools I am applying to might be Cornell and JHU. My schedule didn't have Algebra II or Chem in sophomore year, thereby not allowing me to take any AP courses junior year when they are first being offered. I had 7 honors courses. Now, I am trying to make up for lost ground. Here are the four options....no matter what, I will be taking

Honors Spanish IV
Honors English
Mandatory Grad Project, Gym, and Health...

Other than that,
AP Calc AB, AP Bio, AP Chem.....or AP Calc BC, AP Bio, Honors Psychology and band.....or AP Calc AB, AP Chem, AP Stat.....or AP Calc AB, AP Chem, Honors Psychology band band

The first courseload is the most rigorous, but I am afraid I may not be able to handle it. I clearly want to take Chem for the challenge at my school, and AP Calc because I know any lower math will be too easy. Will the last option look that much worse than the first one? How much differently would admissions committees look at these courseloads?

(Btw, my school has block scheduling, so the best students take 2 APs junior year, and 2 or 3 senior year)

One last question. I am seriously considering some safeties that I think will give a lot of merit aid. Will these types of schools just look at the numbers for scholarships, or look at my course load like top colleges will?
