Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm in 10th grade in the Midwest, and that basically sums up my bio. I wanted to apply to HCSSiM for this summer and I got to the friendly letter part of the application that asks for reasons that you want to spend 8 hours a day on math. Could someone give me some pointers on how to answer this question? Maybe some former alumni from HCSSiM, please? I feel like any answer that I come up with about loving math and certain patterns and problems that fascinate me would sound fake and corny. Please help, thank you in advance.

Hi, I went to HCSSiM 2011. I recall writing something along the lines of what you’re saying (rather corny). So just write something sincere and move on. The important part of getting admitted to HCSSiM is the I.T. (interesting test), so when they send it to you, do it well and thoroughly (and correctly). Lemme know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for your reply mathnerd1! I was going to maybe write about different problems and patterns that fascinate me in math, but I feel like everybody would probably do this, do you have any suggestions that would stand out of the crowd. Sorry for the questions, here’s the last one. What would you put on the section that asks if you have any questions, barring the Riemann Hypothesis? Thank you so much
