So, I am considering applying to HCSSiM for this summer as a freshman in high school. Is there anyone who can telll me more about it (especially someone who has attended or knows someone who has)?

How much math do you do per day?
What do you do outside of class (recreational activities, etc.)?
What are living conditions like?
How prestigious is it (acceptance rate)?

And lastly, what is my chance of getting in as a freshman in high school who has taken Algebra 1 (7th grade), Geometry (8th grade), and Algebra 2 (9th grade), and is teaching herself pre-calculus with a help book?

I wrote down something for every single one. On the Jeoporady page I wasn’t sure about one problem due to something already written in… i wont give any hints but you can probably figure what one it was. I tried to write as much as I could but I know for certain that there was one question that I wasn’t able to solve so I wrote down a guess. Do the trusses well and the question about Fib seq… theres a lot of room because the answer can require alot of space

You’ll get in anywhere cause you’re a girl–not many girls in these math programs so they get accepted everywhere. Where else did you apply? You might be way over your head at these programs having just finished alg2. And then all the ppl there are guys.

Sent my IT on Friday. Good luck everyone who’s waiting for a decision.

Also, you guys don’t have to be so bitter. @_@ Even if girls do get in easier, it’s not like they throw all merit out the window and just let any chicks that apply in.

Oh, and anyone who’s gotten in already: How long did it take after mailing your IT to get your decision letter?
