Help with Housing Application

I sent in my deposit last night, and the Student tab appeared in my Student portal. I have a link to the Student Housing Application, but when I click it it tells me I'm not logged in and to log in through the school. My AccessIT username and password don't get me into it, and neither does anything involving my FAID.

What am I supposed to log in with?

Sorry can’t help with that but just wanted to say Congrats! I know you really wanted to come to Fordham but were worried about the $. Glad it all worked out for you!

Thanks! I appreciate it. I’m really excited.

Sutter16: son is having the same problem, but I think you’re supposed to receive instructions first on how to log in, etc. He entered his FIDN but assumed that the password was the same for his general login, but it didn’t work. He sent an email to reslife for help but I don’t think the portal is up and running yet for new students.

daughter has same problem… called the school and they told her to use the FIDN number, not the login name. She did this (the number beginning with A) but it did not work after she tried that way. She will try again tomorrow to see if it is up by then.

also want to send my congrats! did you get any results from your appeal or did you decide on Fordham anyway? Best of luck, I think you will have a great time.

I decided on Fordham anyway. I’m going to do what I can to become an RA in my junior and/or senior years. If it ends up being something I can’t sustain financially, I’ll probably transfer to St. John’s or back somewhere in state. I’m very very excited though! Thanks for the congrats.

re the housing application–S received an email back from Reslife. They said the application for fall 2014 will not be available until June, and that the new students will receive information about it later this month.

Thanks, mrsmontana, that was helpful.

Things to consider when the application opens up----

Look at the Manresa Program and see what courses are offered. I believe Manresa will be moved to the Loyola Dorm that was just refurbished (and it looks nice from the outside from what I’ve seen). Keep that option open if that appeals to you. One good thing about Manresa it fulfills the Eloquentia Perfecta 1 requirement. If you don’t have an EP1 worked into your schedule for Fall, then you have to hope and pray you won’t get shut out of a good one for the Spring when it comes time for signing up for classes in December.

Queens Court is a very nice dorm. My daughter is a Martyr’s kid and spent many days hanging out with friends there. In fact, there were a few kids that spent so much time over there I thought they were Queens kids, but weren’t.

Martyr’s. Small. It can be done. If you get it, the best part is, come move-in the kids working New Student Orientation will lug that stuff up the stairs for you. We had members of the football team. They got their workout, my daughter was on the 4th floor. My daughter was lucky to have a double, the girls across the hall—triple. They just bunk the beds. It can be done.

I will say one thing, my daughter was very, VERY nervous about who she was getting as a room mate, but Fordham paired her up with a very nice girl and they got along great.

You will find out room mate info mid-to late August, about a week or two before move-in. Same with your class schedule.

Facebook will most likely have a “Class of 2018” set up so you can see who’s who.

Good luck!!

About to fill it out and I still haven’t decided which dorm I want to live in yet. Ha.
