I'm a sophomore and I am pretty interested in that LEAD program, but I have a couple questions. First, is it only for juniors? Second, do you have to be a minority to get in? I've seen other post saying how incredibly hard it is to get into LEAD if you are not. I am from Bangladesh, which is in the Indian subcontinent, if you didn't know. Thanks everyone!

You have to be a junior to apply to LEAD Business, but sophomores can apply apply to LEAD Engineering. All LEAD programs are aimed for under represented minorities(URM) so its very difficult to get in if you arent in an URM. I wouldnt consider someone from Bangladesh an URM but thats just my opinion. You should still apply though if you are interested.

Thanks so much! Finally got an answer…
Ehh, have you attended the engineering thing?

I have not but I know someone who has. He went to the LEAD engineering at Villanova, and said he loved it. He also told meits easier to get into the engineeringprogram than the business program because the engineering programis relatively new compared to the business program.

If you ask me it’s pretty lame that virtually only URM’s can do this… are there any other business-type summer programs?

^aww it sucks that you feel that way, but in the stickied thread at the top of the forum there are mentions of other summer business programs. best of luck to you :)

After reading the other post about not being a stereotypical asian, I’m slightly encouraged to apply as I’m certainly not what you’d define as a stereotypical asian, although it’s probably too late…
