Help with northeast college list

As other posters have mentioned Penn State and Rutgers have very big football programs…a lot of kids from our HS go to Penn State and love the football season.

@5050100 . Thanks for the feedback !

Would Stevens Institute be a possibility? It doesn’t have a lot of sports on campus, but you’re very near some major-league venues in NYC and NJ. I second Temple, which has D1 Football and Basketball.

Notre Dame?

Just as long as he understands the difference between “FCS attendance” vs. "FBS attendance’.

in 2017, UNH drew a total of 63,756 home fans over all regular season games combined. And they were pretty excited about those numbers.

For comparison, Penn State drew 73,000 fans – for a single pre-season practice game.

@maddiec While Miami of Ohio has a fine tradition in football for a school its size, the program has fallen in on-field results and fan support since Roethlisberger’s playing days. Current students have adopted ice hockey as the go-to spectator sport.

@Corbett yeah, that’s a bit of a difference .

@maddiec here is a general link

@Proudmama2 Thank you!

Syracuse is not near a city?

The city of Syracuse is the fifth largest in New York.

It may not be Chicago or Miami, (or even Columbus) but it has all the things that most people love about cities except a major league sports team. Museums, theater, a symphony, public transportation, an international airport, local news stations, etc.

I guess I’ll amend my statement to Syracuse is not really close to a “big city”. When I think of cities in the northeast Syracuse doesn’t exactly jump out at me.
