Help with Planning out GE's

Maybe someone can help clear up my concerns over Warren's GE's:

So while I'm planning out my schedule, I need to decide which 2 Area of Studies (AS) I should pursue in. The AP Psych test exempts me from 1 course for the Psych AS, which leaves me with 2 upper division courses in Psych to complete that AS...I think. But I can't really take a lot of the upper division courses in Psych b/c of the prereqs. So...does this mean that even on paper I only need to take 2 upper div courses to fulfill the Psych AS, but in reality I need to take more courses? Or should I forget about the 1 course exemption and try to look for another subject with some upper div classes that have few prereqs.

I find the AS system (1 lower div and 2 upper div for each AS) really weird. I find it really hard to fulfill it because of the prereqs. Or is it just me and my inability to plan out the courses well?

^I see what you’re saying, but if you look through all the classes, you’ll find plenty that don’t have other classes as prereqs. Just in psych I found: 129, 130, 134, 135, 137, 138, 139, 141, 142, 144, 146, 147, 148, 153, 154, 157, 158, 160, 161, 163, 168, 169, 170, 172, 173, 176, 178, 180, 182, 188, 190, 191, and 193. You have some choices there.

Thanks soo much Kings! I should have listed them out one by one like you did when I was looking through the courses instead of going into panic mode xD. Epic fail on my part.

So is the difficulty level of those certain upper div classes reasonable since I would be going into them without any lower div experience in that subject?

^I assume so or they wouldn’t let you take them otherwise. I haven’t taken any upper div classes yet so I don’t know first hand.
