Help with Residences in U of T?

I got into St. Michaels but I heard its super Christian and doesn’t have any parties–I might be wrong, please correct me if I heard wrong.

What residences should I apply to that are fun and co-ed?

lol no St. Michaels definitely DOES party and I don’t think it’s super Christian, it wouldn’t bother me as long as nobody forces it, which I doubt they will. I’ve heard St. Mikes has a lot if Italians though

What options for residence did St Mikes give you? You can’t change your college.

Only SMC and Chestnut.

Does anyone know about the new “Campusone residence” near UofT? And what about Gradhouse?

Thanks for mentioning the CampusOne residence, @Legacy23. I was just visiting U of T with my D last week and no one mentioned it. I found the website and my D is very interested in learning more. http://www.live-campusone.ca It does not say that it’s affiliated with any of the residential colleges. Amazing location, across the street from Kensington Market. Opens Summer 2017 per the website.

@ShrimpBurrito Oh I called them the other day and got all the details. My friend stays in St. George and would be visiting CampusOne today to take a look. It’s really a great place to stay! Let me know if you have any questions , and I’ll be happy to help.

Awesome, thanks @Legacy23 !

@ShrimpBurrito Parkside Residence is another good option , but it’s around 1.5 km away from UofT. By the way, do you know of any good on-campus residences? Are graduate students(MI program) ONLY eligible for Gradhouse?

@Legacy23 are you a prospective undergrad or grad student?

There is a huge variety of on campus residences, all affiliated with their respective residential college. My D18 likes the Woodsworth residence: 4-6 bedroom apartments with a full kitchen and lots of windows. Many prefer the traditional dormitory style, though, with a dining hall nearby. You can go to each residential college’s website to see their housing options.

I know nothing about Gradhouse, or whether the on campus residences are available for grad students.

Undergraduates are not eligible for Grad House. Hence, the name.

St. Mike’s is a Catholic affiliated college. I know that when my Ds were at U of T several years ago, St Mike’s did not allow the distribution or availability of condoms to its students, that every other U of T college did. Whether that has changed or not, I have no idea.

In general, residence options at U of T are determined by the college to which you have been accepted. For example, Vic has five different options for res, with different types of rooms/suites, and even one all female res. RJ is a suite style res, which is co-ed, and the suites have kitchens and large living areas.

Lots of information to be found here:

@alwaysamom @ShrimpBurrito I guess the only one available to us on campus is Gradhouse. I have applied for CampusOne residence and would mostly be staying there. Thanks for your help. Appreciate it.

If anyone’s looking to share a 2/3 bhk appartment, lemme know!
