Help with SAT Essay

So for Jan SAT, the essay topic for me was whether obstacles (or something) affects progress.
I wrote an intro, 3 examples (3 paragraphs) and an conclusion. I got an 8.
I felt like my conclusion was unfinished and my intro wasn't strong enough...
The examples I used were made up.
One was about a couple that went through hardships but eventually became closer than ever
Second one was about this actor that people around him didn't believe he would make it and constantly picked on him but he became a better actor in the end
3rd example I couldn't remember..

So I can I get 10+ on the essay?

Hello?

Wish I could tell you…I’m a writer, I consider myself good at English, and I received a 9 on the essay both times. I’ve heard a sophisticated vocabulary helps, as do historical or literary examples…

Oh…well I am good with History but I don’t want to use it because it feels too typical.

Hello?

How long was your essay?

full 2 pages.

^ that’s really weird. I filled 2 pages and I had 2 examples rather than 3. (Got a 10)
Well, stay with the prompt at all times. Don’t give superflous info and make sury every sentence pertains to the prompt. I guess for an 11 or 12 you should use SAT vocab and vary in sentence structure more. (Those are what kept me from getting a 11 or a 12)

Oh okay. My thesis wasn’t a thesis and my conclusion wasn’t a conclusion, they were poorly written I guess.
